Being a newly minted senior of 51 years, I would like to find how others in other parts of the world are coping with their senior status. Please share. :-)

Not having accessed my blog for a while, I am warmed by the encouraging comments to make the best of whatever the remaining future holds. So thank you for the comments. I cannot agree more with you that this is a time when it is easier to let go of those burdens that come with building up families and career. There is a greater willingness to reflect on and accept one's past and present and even share views from the benefit of hindsight. So if we go by 90, yes there are many more years of joy.
So since this is the last day of the year, let me wish all a HAPPY NEW YEAR and many more happy years ahead. I hope to make more friends so please do continue to share and be in touch.

This is my first day to visit this site. Ihis is an interesting topic. I'm 52 and have been thinking about my growing age for awhile. I haven't really prepare anything for my future yet.But what I've read from the comments here are so encouraging. I'm trying to lose some weight and feel younger.

At 20, we want to be 30 but at 50 we wish that time stood still and we continue to be able to look and do the things that we can at 30. Is it for ourselves or is it that we wish that special someone or others would see us as that 30 something?
I thank the 3 beautiful women who have responded to me so positively and with a touch of humor. What about the guys except for simmer1000? I hope this is not a subject they deny? I wonder what they think? Simmer1000, thanks for your response but why "kill" yourself in the weightroom? Can we grow old gracefully through other active means? I wonder.

i just discovered this site myself and if no one has answered you it is perhaps a very quiet place! i have a few years on you, up to 57 now, and i don't think of myself as a senior, but realize that i keep ignoring membership in modern maturity, and am a bit more careful about leaping (physically and relationally) but imagine i still have a LOT of life ahead.

Age is nothing more than a number. If you allow it to mess with your head, then you are going to feel like a senior. Not this woman. I believe in being active and attend many functions for singles. Life is a journey. I am grateful that I have lived this long and be as healthy as I am. Take care of yourself and get out and have fun.

I'm 52, and not getting there gracefully. I still feel like 30 sometimes, then there's those mornings that "O, no, not time to get up." Your as young as you feel, stay active. Hope I kill myself in the weight room lifting iron.
